PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

Mrs. Lang began her career with CPA Associates in 2010 as a staff accountant, and has since advanced to be become a Partner and Director of Accounting and Auditing in our Huntingdon office. Courtney specializes in auditing, small business consulting, and taxation for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, and trusts.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES AND MEMBERSHIPS

Courtney is a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA).

EDUCATION

A graduate of The University of Houston-Victoria, Courtney received a Masters of Business Administration with an Accounting Concentration.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Courtney serves as the Treasurer and is a member of the Ways and Means Committee for Huntingdon County Business and Industry. She also serves as Treasurer for ReInvision Huntingdon. Courtney also enjoys being a member of Rotary International and is involved in the local Huntingdon Rotary Club where she serves as the chair of the Greeter/50-50 committee.

PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

A CPA since 1977, Mr. Hearn is one of the founding partners of CPA Associates. Early in his professional career, Wayne worked as a Systems Analyst for the US Army and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal while serving in Southeast Asia. Later, Mr. Hearn was employed as a field agent for the Internal Revenue Service, Director of Finance for Home Nursing Agency, corporate secretary for a Pennsylvania software company, and a life insurance agent with Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance. He brought the experience and knowledge gained from working in these various positions with him when he founded CPA Associates in 1987.

Wayne serves as the firm’s managing and tax partner. His specialties include: business and individual taxation, small business consulting, corporate and business planning, estate and trust planning, succession planning, and wealth accumulation.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES AND MEMBERSHIPS

Wayne is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA). Mr. Hearn has also earned designations as a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). Both designations enhance Mr. Hearn’s knowledge of financial planning and insurance.

EDUCATION

Mr. Hearn received his Master of Business Administration Degree from Cleveland State University in Ohio.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Wayne serves on the Board of Directors for various community organizations including the Huntingdon Community Center, Huntingdon Chamber Community Foundation, Friends of Raystown Lake, and Huntingdon Park & Road Association. In his involvement with both Friends of Raystown Lake and Huntingdon Park & Road Association, Wayne holds the officer position of Treasurer. He is also involved in the local business community by serving as a Regional Board Member for Kish Bancorp.

Mr. McClain is a senior manager and director of our office located in Altoona, PA.  Mike began his accounting career in 1984, and joined our team at CPA Associates in 2006.  Mike’s areas of specialization are in small business consulting, auditing, and taxation for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.

Mr. McClain is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University were he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Mike holds a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and is involved in martial arts in his community.

PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

Harry was one of the founding partners of CPA Associates, and has played a role in the firm since its creation. During his early years with CPA Associates, Harry served as the audit partner. In 2008 he divested himself of his ownership interest in the firm in order to pursue additional accounting opportunities.  During this time, Harry served as the Director of Finance for a multi-county nonprofit agency and continued working part-time for CPA Associates. Harry returned to CPA Associates in a full-time capacity in 2012, and has since served as the firm’s accounting and auditing engagement partner.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES AND MEMBERSHIPS

In addition to being a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), Mr. Stroup previously was a visiting instructor at Juniata College where he taught auditing for 11 years.

EDUCATION

Harry graduated from The Pennsylvania State University’s Accounting Honors Program where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. He has also completed the AICPA’s Governmental Accounting and Auditing Certificate of Educational Achievement Program and was awarded a Certificate of Educational Achievement in Governmental and Nonprofit Accounting.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Harry has served as the Treasurer of Huntingdon County Habitat for Humanity for many years, and was at one time an active member of the program’s Building Committee. He is also the Treasurer and a founding board member of Huntingdon Landmarks, Inc., and has served numerous terms on the Church Vestry at the Saint John’s Episcopal Church.

Amanda is a senior accountant and office manager of our Altoona office.  She specializes in payroll, QuickBooks training and assistance, and taxation for individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates, and trusts.

Mrs. McClain is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) and the Pennsylvania Society of Enrolled Agents.

EDUCATION

A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, Amanda has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting and Finance.

PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

Karen is a senior accountant in our Belleville office. She began her career with CPA Associates in 1998. Karen’s primary area of specialization is in small business setup and tax consulting for the English and Conservative communities. Karen is also experienced in QuickBooks setup and training, IRS problem resolution, and taxation for individuals, partnerships, and businesses.

EDUCATION

Karen received her Associate’s Degree in Accounting and Business Administration from DuBois Business College.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Karen enjoys spending time with family as well as cooking and baking.

Kayleigh is a payroll specialist at the Huntingdon office. She specializes is payroll, Quick Books training and assistance, and taxation for individuals.

Amber started her career with CPA Associates in our Belleville office during 2016. She is currently an Accounting Assistant as well as the Belleville Office Manager. Amber specializes in individual income tax preparation, small business bookkeeping and tax preparation, payroll processing, payroll tax preparation and sales tax preparation. She is instrumental in the daily operations of our Belleville office as she assists clients in notice resolution and answering general tax questions. She is a friendly and hard-working individual who is eager to aid staff members or clients in whatever capacity is needed.

EDUCATION

Amber received her IRS Enrolled Agent Certification in 2021. Prior to starting her career at CPA Associates, Amber had the opportunity to gain management and customer service experience through several roles of employment.

ACTIVITIES

Outside of work, Amber enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends.

PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

Brittany joined the CPA Associates team at our Belleville location in 2019. She is a friendly voice you hear greeting and assisting the clients, in addition to her general administrative tasks, she also handles client billing/invoicing. She approaches all aspects of her job with a positive, hard-working mindset and is eager about helping clients with her general knowledge of scheduling, billing, payroll processing, QuickBooks, and income tax preparation.  She is currently working on becoming an Enrolled Agent with the IRS. Brittany is passionate about serving Mifflin County and surrounding counties with their accounting needs.

Brittany is a 2013 graduate of Fannett Metal High School.

Brittany is a member at the Centre Pointe UPC Church in Lewistown. She enjoys spending time with her family & her dog Savage, admiring God’s natural creations, and dabbling in photography.

Cindy is a staff accountant at our Altoona office. She specializes in payroll, taxation for individuals, and bookkeeping.

Ms Gage is a member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB).

EDUCATION

Cindy attended Mount Aloysius College (Cresson, PA) and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.

Tina started her career in the Belleville office in 2021 as a Support Team-Tax Bookkeeper. She specializes in payroll processing, payroll tax preparation, sales tax filings, Quickbooks training and assistance, individual income tax preparation, as well as other various bookkeeping services for many local businesses.

EDUCATION

Veteran of the United States Army who served as a personnel specialist. Certified Visual Therapist and Paraoptometric.

ACTIVITIES

Outside of work, Tina enjoys spending time with her family and friends, riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle and spending time at their beach house any chance she can.

Adam is a Staff Accountant at the Huntingdon Branch of CPA Associates. In his role, he will offer bookkeeping and payroll services, as well as specialization in taxation for individuals.

EDUCATION

Adam graduated Magna Cum Laude from Juniata College in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education. In 2022, he obtained his Enrolled Agent certification.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Adam enjoys spending time with his family and friends, most of all when gathered around a homemade meal or seated in front of a great movie.

PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

Kelly joined CPA Associate’s Belleville office in 2022 as a part-time office assistant. Since accepting a full-time position, she has stepped into the role of Support Team-Tax Bookkeeper where she specializes in payroll processing, payroll tax preparation, and sales tax filings. She is currently working towards an IRS Enrolled Agent Certification.

EDUCATION

Kelly earned her Associate Degree in Applied Science in Administrative Office Management from Harrisburg Area Community College.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

You will likely see Kelly and her daughter out and about in the Juniata River Valley. Together, they like to attend community events in the Lewistown area, dine-out, and visit PA State Parks.

PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

Samantha began her career at CPA Associates in 2023 at the Huntingdon location. She has taken on the role of assisting in payroll, bookkeeping, and an assistant to our administrative assistant.

EDUCATION

Samantha is a graduate from Mount Union Area High School. She attended the vocational technical school of Huntingdon County in SERT (Sports Exercise Rehabilitation Therapy). During her time in high school, she took on the role as Champ Captain for all the local high schools for a couple of years. She was also the treasurer and officer for SkillsUSA. Samantha is currently working towards her Enrolled Agent certification.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Samantha has many pet ducks. She really enjoys spending time with her family, friends, animals, and most importantly loves Stacy’s mom.
